Musonda scores as Chelsea youngsters draw with Everton

Charly Musonda scored from the penalty spot as Chelsea’s development side opened their Premier League 2 campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to Everton.

Marcin Bulka impressed for the first team during pre-season but a mistake by the young keeper gifted Everton the lead at Stamford Bridge.

The deadlock was broken just before the hour mark when Bulka misjudged Harry Charsley’s long-range effort and the ball crossed the line.

Chelsea were the better side for much of the game and deservedly drew level courtesy of Musonda after Tariq Lamptey had been fouled in the penalty area.
