Jose Mourinho says Chelsea have not received an approach for Juan Mata.
There has been speculation about Mata’s future at Stamford Bridge given his struggle to hold down a first-team place since Mourinho’s return as Blues boss.
The Spaniard was clearly unhappy after being substituted during the New Year’s Day win at Southampton, prompting reports of interest from a number of clubs.
The likes of Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal have been linked with Mata as well as European clubs such as Paris St-German.
Mourinho said: “There isn’t any offer. We have no offers. I keep saying I want him to stay.”
Meanwhile, Mourinho has denied reports that Chelsea have had £50m bid for Gonzalo Higuaín rejected by Napoli.
