Morris set to join Lampard at Derby
Jody Morris is expected to join Frank Lampard at Derby County after the Chelsea legend was confirmed as manager of the Championship club.
The Hammersmith-born Morris, who made 173 appearances as a Chelsea player, is currently in charge of the Blues’ hugely successful Under-18 side.
Lampard, Chelsea’s record goalscorer, has taken over as Rams boss on a three-year contract and is expected to install Morris, 39, as his assistant.
“This is my first job as a manager, but I’ve worked closely with some of the best coaches in the game and I’m confident in my own abilities and those of the team around me,” Lampard said.
“I know it won’t be easy – managing a football team never is – but I’m really looking forward to the challenge ahead.”
