Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka has warned Adama Traore he must stay focused amid reports Chelsea are interested in the winger.
The 20-year-old has impressed since joining Boro from Aston Villa in the summer and is among a host of players to have been linked with a move to Chelsea.
But Karanka, who this week signed Patrick Bamford from Chelsea, has warned that Traore’s stock could fall if he does not maintain this current form.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Karanka said: “If a team like Chelsea is following Adama, it’s because his progression has been brilliant in six months and he’s doing well.
“The main thing he has to do is to keep going in the same way because football changes a lot.
“Maybe he is in a big moment, but with Patrick here now, with other players already, maybe in two or three months, he will not be playing and Chelsea disappears and everybody disappears.”
