David Luiz wants to leave Chelsea and join Arsenal.
The Gunners are interested in signing Luiz, 32, ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.
And the Brazilian has indicated that he would like to make the move to north London.
Luiz, who is in his second spell at Chelsea, signed a new two-year contract in May.
Chelsea are reluctant to let him leave because the club are under a Fifa-imposed transfer embargo so would be unable to replace him.
He is nevertheless keen to be reunited with Arsenal boss Unai Emery, having previously played under him at Paris St-Germain.
Luiz was sold to the French club in 2014 but made a shock return to Stamford Bridge two years later.
Luiz trained separately from the rest of the Chelsea squad on Wednesday.
