Luiz named in Brazil’s Olympic squad

David Luiz has been called up to represent Brazil at this summer’s Olympics.

The Chelsea defender has been included as one of the permitted three players in the squad over the age of 23.

Luiz, 25, will link-up with his team-mates in Brazil on 9 July for training ahead of a pre-tournament warm-up game against Great Britain at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium on 20 July.

The Olympic football tournament starts on 26 July and is scheduled to finish on 11 August – a week before the start of the new Premier League season.
