Chelsea Under-21s win at Man City
Charlie Colkett’s late goal gave Chelsea’s youngsters a 1-0 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in their penultimate match of the Under-21 Premier League season.
Colkett, on as a substitute, struck with four minutes remaining when he finished nicely following good work on the right by Isaac Christie-Davies.
Earlier, both keepers were called into action during an even first half.
Chelsea’s Bradley Collins produced saves to deny George Glendon and Sinan Bytyqi, while City’s Angus Gunn kept out shots from Ruben Sammut and Mukhtar Ali.
There were fewer openings in the second half, but Collins produced an important save before Colkett’s goal when he pushed away Bytyqi’s powerful effort.
The Blues’ Under-21s will end their season with a match against Leicester at the King Power Stadium on Thursday evening.
