Lampard refuses to blame Zouma after Chelsea draw

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard said his side had to take collective responsibility after Kurt Zouma’s late own goal earned Sheffield United a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues were 2-0 up at the break and seemingly cruising to a second Premier League win a row thanks to Tammy Abraham’s double.

But Callum Robinson pulled one back after some weak home defending and Zouma’s 89th-minute sliced own goal saw the Blades leave with a point after a much-improved second-half display.

“It is conceding as a team,” Lampard said. “There was a lack of concentration and mistakes for the goals but you defend as a team as much as you attack as a team.

“We conceded because we switched off. The first goal allowed it but we only have ourselves to look at, as a group, not individually.

“It’s a game we should be comfortably seeing it out at 2-0 up.

“We can isolate goals and talk about centre-backs. But when we score goals sometimes it’s because of a centre-back moving the ball quickly.

“We only have ourselves to look at.”
