Lampard injury a concern for Chelsea

Chelsea are assessing Frank Lampard after he suffered a recurrence of a calf problem during his team’s Champions League defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Lampard went off after 17 minutes of the game in Ukraine and was clearly in significant pain.

And manager Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed that the injury is the same as the one the 34-year-old picked up against Norwich, which kept him out of England’s recent matches.

Lampard’s condition will be checked when the squad return to London. He looks certain to miss Sunday’s Premier League game against Manchester United.
