Lampard facing weeks on the sidelines
Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is likely to be sidelined for a number of weeks, a scan has confirmed.
The 34-year-old has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against Manchester United and manager Roberto Di Matteo expects him to miss further matches.
Lampard suffered a recurrence of a calf injury during the midweek Champions League defeat against Shakhtar Dontesk.
“He will be out for a few weeks with a calf problem,” Di Matteo said. ”That is a big loss.”
But summer signing Marko Marin has returned to training following his latest injury setback and could be in the Blues squad this weekend.
The German is yet to make his Premier League debut, having so far only featured in the Capital One Cup.
