Kovacic set to undergo Chelsea medical

Mateo Kovacic is set to undergo a medical at Chelsea.

Real Madrid have offered the Croatia midfielder, 24, to the Blues on a season-long loan as part of a deal involving Thibaut Courtois.

Keeper Courtois is keen to complete a move from to Real from Chelsea, who look set to sign Athletic Bilbao’s Kepa as a replacement for the Belgian.

Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has been keen to further strengthen his midfield options following the recent signing of Jorginho.

Chelsea have held talks with AC Milan with a view to offloading Tiemoue Bakayoko to the Italian club.

Bakayoko, who failed to impress following his arrival from Monaco last year, has also attracted interest from Sevilla.
