Tomas Kalas is expected to be out for six weeks after suffering a fractured jaw while playing for Bristol City.
Kalas, who is with the Championship side on a season-long loan from Chelsea, had surgery on Sunday.
The defender, 25, sustained the injury during Bristol City’s game against Wigan – his fifth appearance for the Robins since his loan move.
Kalas spent last season on loan at Fulham, playing a key role as they won promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.
