Manager Jose Mourinho says Chelsea’s winning mentality was obvious during the Capital One Cup victory over Derby County but has dismissed talk of a possible ‘Quadruple’.
The Blues eased home 3-1 to secure a place in the semi-finals and Mourinho said his team’s desire shone through in a competition many top clubs do not take seriously.
“I think the players, they show that attitude by playing a very professional game,” he said. “The mentality is already part of the group DNA.
“I don’t need to push people to play a certain game or to press them to be ready to play a certain match. I am so happy with them.”
But Mourinho said there would be no talk of a potential Quadruple of both domestic cups, the Champions League and the Premier League.
“We don’t speak about it,” Mourinho said. “You people (the media) spoke a few weeks about being unbeatable in the Premier League and we never did it.
“Now you speak about the Quadruple and we never did it. We have our feet on the ground.
“We go match by match. We don’t choose competitions, we don’t choose matches. The next match is the most important thing.”
