Jose Mourinho has dismissed reports he is looking to sign Jackson Martinez and Fabio Coentrao.
It was claimed that Chelsea were in talks to sign forward Martinez from Porto and that Mourinho was considering a loan deal for Real Madrid’s Portugal left-back Fabio Coentrao.
But the Blues boss denied any interest in Coentrao by bizarrely declaring: “I don’t want Portuguese players” and insisted Martinez is not a target as the club are not looking to bring in a striker.
Mourinho said: “I always have them [Portuguese players] and in this moment it’s enough. We don’t need [Coentrao].”
And on Martinez, he added: “It’s not true what I read a couple of days ago that the agent was in London and meeting with me and Chelsea directors – not true at all.
“In the January market we are not going to buy any strikers. We are going to go with Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba. Nobody goes in and nobody goes out.”
