Fit-again Jorginho set to return to Chelsea squad
Jorginho trained on Friday morning and is expected to return to the Chelsea squad for the trip to Newcastle.
The Italy midfielder has been struggling with a foot problem but boss Graham Potter confirmed on Friday afternoon that Jorginho is set to travel to St James’ Park.
But keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has not yet returned to training and remains sidelined along with Reece James, Ben Chilwell, N’Golo Kante and Wesley Fofana.
“Jorgi trained today, so providing there’s no reaction he should be in the squad,” Potter said.
Potter’s side have lost three of their past four matches and won just two of their past seven.
Newcastle, on the other hand, have been enjoying an impressive season so far.
The Magpies are third in the Premier League table – four places above Chelsea, with six more points.
“It will a tough game,” Potter admitted.
“Everyone will feel better if we can get the three points before the (World Cup) break, but we know Newcastle will be fighting for them too.”
