Injured Terry expected to miss Spurs game
Chelsea captain John Terry is a doubt for Sunday’s derby at rivals Tottenham after being stretchered off during the 4-0 win against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Champions League.
Terry suffered an ankle injury in the second half after appearing to land awkwardly and was replaced by Kurt Zouma.
The former England defender’s condition is being assessed but Blues boss Jose Mourinho does not expect Terry to be available at White Hart Lane.
“John is a doubt for the weekend but I don’t want to speak without tests,” Mourinho said.
“My medical department is really good and John is a special guy with a special desire to recover, but I don’t believe he will be able to play.”
Meanwhile, Ramires missed Tuesday’s game after picking up a muscular injury in a training session ahead of the match.
