Hiddink could retain link with Chelsea
Guus Hiddink says he plans to stay involved in football – and might retain a link with Chelsea – when his time as interim boss finishes at the end of the season.
The 69-year-old Dutchman, who is in his second spell as Blues boss, will make way for Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.
And he has suggested that his next role will focus on the development of young players.
Hiddink explained: “It is not a goodbye (to football) that will be forever, because I will be involved in some issues but not in the spotlight.
“I will go to France to watch the Euros and do some TV work and then I will be involved but not in the limelight – helping out clubs and players.
“Developing youth players, their technical and mental part, is something I like very much. Those things I like to do and maybe I will do it here or elsewhere.
“This week we had a small encounter with a company who is providing development of youth players regarding the technical and mental part of the game.
“I am an adviser of that company in Holland and we had a meeting with (Chelsea’s head of youth development) Neil Bath, which I like very much.
“It can be very beneficial for the development of youth players. It is a very modern approach. Those things I like to do and I can do it here or elsewhere.”
Hiddink’s side face Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday and finish their season with a home game against champions Leicester on Sunday.
