Hazard says he’s happy at Chelsea and Champions League ‘isn’t a priority’

Eden Hazard has insisted he is happy at Chelsea and could well stay even if they do not qualify for the Champions League.

Hazard has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent seasons, with Real Madrid reported to be keen, but the Belgium international feels he has no need to leave London.

Chelsea are two points behind Tottenham, who occupy the final Champions League place, and three points behind Liverpool, who have played a game more than the Blues.

Hazard says he is happy in England and while he wants to play in Europe’s elite club competition, it is not a priority for the 27-year-old.

“I hope (the fans) don’t want to see me leave,” Hazard told French broadcasters SFR Sport.

“I’m doing good things here. I’m happy here. Things can move, or they may not move. We’ll see.

“The public adore me, I love my team-mates. My family are good here.

“Of course I want to play in the Champions League, but it isn’t a priority.”
