Gladbach keen to sign Chelsea’s Christensen
Borussia Mönchengladbach’s sporting director Max Eberl has told German football magazine Kicker the club are keen to sign Andreas Christensen from Chelsea on a permanent deal.
Danish defender Christensen, 19, has impressed since joining the Bundesliga side last summer on a season-long loan.
He scored his first goals for the club in Friday’s game against Werder Bremen, netting twice in a 5-1 win.
“Our intention is to try and get into talks with Chelsea in the summer,” Eberl is quoted as saying.
“Andreas fulfils everything we’ve seen in him. And we are delighted that we were able to take him on loan without any ifs and buts.”
Christensen made his first-team debut for Chelsea in the Capital One Cup win at Shrewsbury in October 2014 and then started in the shock FA Cup defeat against Bradford three months later.
His first Premier League appearance came on the final day of last season, as a late substitute against Sunderland.
