Rudiger among Chelsea players set to miss Brentford game

Antonio Rudiger has been ruled out of Chelsea’s derby against Brentford on Saturday.

Rudiger picked up a back injury while on international duty with Germany and will miss out this weekend along with Christian Pulisic, who is still struggling with an ankle problem.

The Blues will also be without Thiago Silva, who is not scheduled to be back in London until tomorrow following international duty with Brazil.


Meanwhile, Hakim Ziyech missed training because of a headache and is not expected to be involved against the Bees either.

But Romelu Lukaku is available, having been left out of Belgium’s side against Italy because of muscle fatigue.

“Toni Rudiger is injured. He came back injured from the national team,” Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel confirmed.

“He is not available and Christian Pulisic is still injured – also not available.

“And we have doubts with Hakim Ziyech. He missed the last two trainings with a headache and it seems that he is not with the squad tomorrow.”
