Sterling among Chelsea players loaned out on deadline day
Chelsea youngsters Dujon Sterling, Ethan Ampadu, Harvey Vale, Xavier Simons have all left the club on loan.
Full-back Dujon Sterling, 22, has joined Stoke City on a season-long agreement having spent last season on loan at Championship club Blackpool, where he made 25 appearances in all competitions.
He is Stoke boss Alex Neil’s first signing at the club after taking over the managerial role on Sunday.
Sterling came through Chelsea’s academy and has also previously had loan spells with Wigan Athletic and Coventry City.
Meanwhile, Chelsea midfielder Xavier Simons and young striker Harvey Vale have joined Hull City.
Former Brentford academy player Simons, who made his debut against the Bees in the Carabao Cup last season, has signed a season-long deal with the Tigers and could made his debut in the Championship against Sheffield United on Sunday.
The highly-rated Vale also made his debut in that same match at Brentford and has signed a new three-year contract with the Blues before making the move to East Yorkshire where he will play for the rest of the campaign.
Blues midfielder Ethan Ampadu has also moved on loan after agreeing to join Italian side Spazia on a season-long deal.
The 21-year-old Wales international spent the 2021/22 campaign in Italy with Venezia, where he made 29 Serie A appearances.
