John Terry has agreed a return to Chelsea as manager of the club’s development side, according to The Sun on Sunday.
The newspaper say the Blues legend has agreed an £800,000 deal to take control of the Under-23s once he has completed his coaching badges.
Former Chelsea captain Terry, 37, has been considering his options since leaving Aston Villa during the summer.
He recently backed out of a move to Spartak Moscow and has made no secret of his desire to enter coaching and management.
Blues boss Maurizio Sarri is said to be behind the move to bring Terry back to Stamford Bridge.
Sarri recently said he would welcome Terry back but had been led to believe the ex-England defender wanted to continue playing.
The Sun on Sunday quote a source as saying: “John has made no bones about the fact he’s keen to get into management and obviously Chelsea has always been the dream.
“He has been in talks with the boss for the past few weeks and has verbally agreed the deal.
“It will only come to fruition though once he has finished his badges.
“An as-yet undecided manager will take over in the interim.”
