Sarri ‘not interested’ in comments by Courtois’ agent
Maurizio Sarri plans to discuss Thibaut Courtois’ future with him on Monday.
The goalkeeper’s agent this week declared that Courtois wants to join Real Madrid and should be allowed to leave.
Courtois, who has a year remaining on his contract, was previously on loan at Atletico Madrid and his two children live in the Spanish capital.
But Blues boss Sarri said: “I am not interested in the agent. I want to hear if Courtois will say to me the same.
“I have to speak to my club of course. I want only players who have a very high level of motivation.”
Sarri was speaking at a press conference at Wembley following the 2-0 loss to Manchester City, who dominated a one-sided game to win the Community Shield.
Sarri described his team’s pre-season campaign as “crazy” and added: “I think the first half not too bad.
“In the second half there was a big difference from a physical point of view.”
