Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has hit back at criticism of him and Jorginho.
Sarri was jeered by Blues fans during the 4-0 defeat at Bournemouth and his position has come under scrutiny after a poor run which has seen Chelsea drop out of the top four.
Speaking at a media conference on Friday afternoon, Sarri was asked about his apparent reliance on Jorginho, who played under him at Napoli and was his flagship summer signing following his appointment as Chelsea head coach.
Jorginho has struggled to make an impact in the eyes of many, but Sarri defended the midfielder and also dismissed suggestions he needs a Plan B.
“Why? First I want to do very well the Plan A,” Sarri said.
“I don’t want to change something that isn’t working, I want to see it play well and then we look to change something.
“Everybody 10 years ago knew Barcelona, they won everything because they played well their football. I want to play my football.”
Sarri has attracted criticism for deploying Eden Hazard as a striker and N’Golo Kante – so effective as a defensive midfielder – in a more attacking role.
Asked if he would considering moving Kante back into a deeper position in place of Jorginho, Sarri said he would only consider doing so for 20 minutes if Chelsea were protecting a lead.
Jorginho tends to have a huge amount of the ball in Sarri’s set-up but his lack of assists has led to his role being questioned.
But Sarri dismissed suggestions the Italy international has struggled to adapt to the Premier League.
He said: “It depends what you want from Jorginho. If it is the last pass, then he has not adapted.
“He usually plays 40 or 45 metres from the goal, so it is impossible to do the last pass. He is very good at other things.”

Chelsea fans are disgusting when sarri-ball was bringing result ppl label jorginho as a genius but when things are going the oda way they throw insults..can't we just get it,no sarriball with kante in that role, just give sarri a chance and time,beside most of our deficiencies are not from jorginho but he is often used as a scape goat.

Sarri is very very stubborn and am sick about his attitude already... the board wanted a young and strong striker, sarri said no to that idea, that he only want GH @9#cfc... sarri take back knate to his position... sarri refused, sarri Willian and Pedro are old legs now... play CHO sarri refuses again, sarri if you want your Jorginho to keep to that position then you have to play the 4,2,3,1 formation Jorginho & Knate still the stubborn man refuse give Emerson more playing time allow alonso some rest yet again his stubbornness continue. Sarri is stubborn and will relegate our Chelsea. Premiere league is a physical and technical one. Sarri ignores the abilities of Kante a contrast to 99% around the world that admits Kante is one of the best middle fielders and on top of that he using Pedro instead of Odoi who is young strong fast agile and he can create chaos with the defenders. Willian, Pedro, were, of course, good players but they are of an age and Sarri with his sick sarriball will simply destroy our Chelsea. Time for the owner to get involved and tell him what to do.
this coach is clueless!!! Jorginho has no impact in the game, and he just slows everything down with his passes side to side or back. NO KEY PASS IN THE SEASON!!! Useless. that is Sari-ball for you. Does he like to build another Barcelona? Clueless!!! A good manager has to adjust and motivate players.
