Chelsea are hopeful an injury picked up by Ramires will not prove to be serious.
The Brazilian midfielder has a problem with his hip abductor and will not be available for the Capital One Cup tie against Bolton at Stamford Bridge.
He suffered the injury during Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Manchester City, where he was substituted in the second half.
“It’s a minor injury but it will keep him out of the game against Bolton and we will review him in the days following that,” said assistant first-team coach Steve Holland.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho is expected to make a number of changes for Tuesday’s game and has already made it clear that Diego Costa will not be involved.
Striker Costa has been managing a hamstring problem and returned to the starting line-up against City.
