Abraham scores twice in England Under-21 victory
Chelsea’s prolific young striker Tammy Abraham scored twice on his full England Under-21 debut as they rounded off their European Championship qualifying campaign with a 5-0 thrashing of Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Former Blues youngster John Swift, now of Reading, also found the net in the game at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium, where the other goals were scored by Josh Onomah of Tottenham and Sunderland’s Duncan Watmore.
Chelsea’s Nathaniel Chalobah also featured, while Lewis Baker was an unused substitute.
Swift netted a 15th-minute opener and four minutes later Abraham, who has scored 11 goals while on loan at Bristol City this season, made it 2-0 by following up to score after Onomah’s shot had been saved.
Abraham, 19, later added the fifth goal to cap a fine England victory, finishing nicely after being set up by Watmore.
Less than 24 hours earlier, another Chelsea forward, Dominic Solanke, scored for England’s Under-20 side in a 2-0 win against the United States.
