Jose Mourinho has refused to confirm his interest in Diego Costa amid reports the Atletico Madrid striker is on his way to Chelsea for £32m.
The Blues boss is keen to sign at least one forward during the summer, with Costa, 25, tipped to move to Stamford Bridge.
“The only thing I can say is that the market is closed and will open in the summer,” said Mourinho.
“Chelsea will be quiet and calm during that period. We will not be the noisy team. We are going to do a couple of critical signings.
“Is a striker a target for us? Yes. I have never denied that. Is Diego a good player? He is. But he is an Atletico Madrid player so I cannot say too much.”
Costa scored the Spanish side’s second goal as they won 3-1 at Chelsea in this week’s Champions League semi-final.
He is reported to have a £32m release clause in his Atletico contract.
