Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante could be facing more time on the sidelines after suffering another injury during the defeat against Manchester United.
Kante, who has struggled with knee, ankle and hamstring problems this season, went off after 11 minutes of the game at Stamford Bridge, where the Blues were beaten 2-0.
The Frenchman sustained an adductor injury and boss Frank Lampard admitted: “It doesn’t look great.”
Kante is set to undergo a scan in order to establish the extent of the damage.
The loss of Kante was a further blow for Chelsea, who were already without the injured Tammy Abraham and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
They certainly missed top scorer Abraham as his stand-in, Michy Batshuayi, once again struggled in front of goal.
It was a big opportunity for Batshuayi to impress but he missed good chances to score and failed to make an impact before being replaced by Olivier Giroud midway through the second half.

Kante injury can be a blessing in disguise because he is presently not in his element and not playing great as he usually does in previous seasons. He will return to his best form next season. The injury means he might miss out on transfer scene and remain at Chelsea as not many would want to buy an injured player. Apart from this, his absence will create room for a replacement who might help Chelsea get better because he will want to seize the opportunity to make a statement for himself.
