Lampard insists Chelsea are not chasing Soumaré
Frank Lampard has denied reports that Chelsea are looking to sign Boubakary Soumaré.
The Blues, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been linked with the Lille midfielder, with reports claiming the three Premier League clubs are battling to buy him.
However, Chelsea boss Lampard insisted at a news conference on Friday that Soumaré is not a transfer target.
“I’m aware of him as a player but he’s not on my radar for this window,” Lampard said.
“We played against them (in the Champions League) and I know he’s a good player, but that’s not one that’s on the immediate radar.”
Lampard also said Chelsea are still assessing the extent of Tammy Abraham’s ankle injury and stated he is not looking to sign a goalkeeper despite recent criticism of Kepa Arrizabalaga.
