Kenedy fitness to be assessed after impressive full debut

Chelsea are assessing a calf injury Kenedy picked up during the League Cup victory at Walsall.

The 19-year-old Brazilian scored on his full debut for the Blues as they won 4-1 to book their place in the fourth round.

He was substituted with 20 minutes of the game remaining, although the problem is not thought to be serious.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho was full of praise for Kenedy after his impressive display.

“Kennedy played well and it was more minutes on the pitch for him,” Mourinho said.

“He was having pain in his calf so I had to take him off. But it was a nice performance for him and a good experience.”
