Lampard: Kante set for return to full training
N’Golo Kante is set to return to full training in the next few days, Frank Lampard revealed after Chelsea’s Carabao Cup defeat against Manchester United.
The 2-1 loss at Stamford Bridge ended a seven-match unbeaten run for the Blues.
But on a much more positive note, boss Lampard is hopeful that Kante will be available before the next international break.
The midfielder has been out with a groin injury, having previously been troubled by knee, ankle and hamstring problems.
“He’s going to hopefully join in in training in the next two or three days,” said Lampard.
“It’s important. He’s a top player.”
Marcus Rashford’s brilliant free-kick took United through but Lampard remained upbeat despite his team missing out on the quarter finals.
He said: “Our form in the league has been really good and that’s the priority, lets get it right.
“I saw a lot of things that were positives for us. I think it’s clear that there’s a bigger picture and a busy period ahead for us.”
