Frustrated Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho claimed West Ham played “football from the 19th century” in the goalless draw at Stamford Bridge.
Sam Allardyce’s struggling side defended doggedly and denied their opponents an eighth consecutive victory.
“To play a football match where only one team wants to play is very difficult,” Mourinho said.
“Football matches are about two teams playing and in this match only one team played and the other was not playing.
“I told Sam and I repeat my words: they need the points and because of that they came here and played the way they did. Is it acceptable? Maybe yes.
“I cannot be too critical because if I was in that position I don’t know if I would do the same. I don’t want to be too critical, but also this is the Premier League and that was football from the 19th century.
“The defenders kicking long balls – it was very basic. Their goalkeeper saved a lot but they had other players without gloves who saved a lot. They gave their body and were sliding, tackling – I respect their spirit and effort.”
Mourinho added: “The only thing I could have brought was the Black & Decker to destroy the wall.”
The result leaves Chelsea third in the Premier League table, three points behind new leaders Manchester City, who thrashed Tottenham 5-1.

ha ha, West Ham played the same tactics Mourinhio used at Man Utd and Arsenal earlier this season and the same way he had his Inter and Madrid teams playing every time they faced Barcelona, he really does come out with some nonsence
