Jose Mourinho has insisted that Willian will not be sold by Chelsea.
There has been speculation about the Brazilian’s future at Stamford Bridge following this week’s signing of Pedro from Barcelona.
French media reports have claimed that Willian has been offered to Paris St-Germain and Bayern Munich, while Juan Cuadrado has also been linked with a move from Chelsea.
Speaking ahead of his team’s game against West Brom, Mourinho played down the prospect of the club offloading a player following Pedro’s arrival.
However, while he did not rule out a move for Cuadrado, the Blues boss emphatically made it clear that Willian will be staying.
Referring to transfer speculation, Mourinho said: “It is a big lie of the market when I read that the club will sell Willian or that some club wants Willian. Maybe they want – but they don’t get.”
Meanwhile, Mourinho refused to comment on reports that Chelsea are edging closer to signing John Stones and Paul Pogba.
Everton defender Stones is reportedly considering handing in a transfer request in order to force a move from Goodison Park – although Everton manager Roberto Martinez has insisted there has been no sign of the player asking to leave.
Chelsea have long been linked with Juventus’ former Manchester United midfielder Pogba, with Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri said to be keen on a number of Blues players, including Oscar and Ramires.
Asked about the potential signing of England international Stones, Mourinho said: “I don’t speak about players from other clubs, especially when the championship is on.
“Every club has a game tomorrow, Sunday or on Monday, and it’s complicated to go in that direction. So I’m quiet.”
And when asked about Pogba, the Portuguese replied: “He is a Juventus player. I cannot speak about a Juventus player.
“I know Allegri was all summer speaking about Oscar and Ramires, but I won’t speak about a Juventus player.
