Chelsea coach Steve Holland has joined interim England manager Gareth Southgate’s backroom staff.
Holland, 46, has been Southgate’s assistant for the past three years while the former Aston Villa and Crystal Palace defender has been England Under-21 boss.
Holland, whose role as Chelsea’s assistant first-team coach will be unchanged, will be England first-team coach.
He replaces Craig Shakespeare, who has left the England set-up following Sam Allardyce’s departure.
Allardyce left his job as England manager on Tuesday after being filmed by undercover reporters apparently offering advice on circumventing the Football Association’s player ownership rules.
