Costa left out of Spain’s Euro 2016 squad
Chelsea’s Diego Costa could miss Euro 2016 after being left out of Spain’s preliminary 25-man squad.
The Blues striker was ruled out of the final two Premier League games, against Liverpool and Leicester, after picking up a hamstring injury.
Spain coach Vicente del Bosque can still add Costa to his squad by 1 June if the 27-year-old has proved his fitness.
His Chelsea team-mates Cesc Fabregas, Pedro and Cesar Azpilicueta have all been called up but there are no places for former Blues players Juan Mata and Fernando Torres.
Defending champions Spain are in Group D at the Euros, with Croatia, Czech Republic and Turkey.
