Hiddink must ‘find a solution’ without Costa

Chelsea: Diego Costa

Guus Hiddink has admitted Diego Costa’s suspension for Monday’s game at Manchester United is a setback for the Blues and that they must “find a solution”.

Costa returned to form by scoring twice as Chelsea drew 2-2 with Watford on Boxing Day in Hiddink’s first match in charge since the Dutchman’s return to Stamford Bridge.

But a late lunge at Watford defender Craig Cathcart earned the striker a yellow card which rules him out of the clash at Old Trafford.

Hiddink said: “It is a setback of course, especially as he is now increasing his reaction (to recent criticism of his performances).

“He’s out because it’s the fifth (yellow card) and it’s a pity. He was putting in some good performances, so it’s even more of a pity.

“But it is not in my nature to complain. We will have to find a solution. We have to think about how to solve that problem.”

With Radamel Falcao also unavailable, Hiddink is expected to start with Loic Remy up front.
