Andre Schurrle has been ruled out of Germany’s Euro 2016 qualifier against the Republic of Ireland because of illness.
The Chelsea man is struggling with a cold and has left the national team’s base in the German city of Essen.
A brief statement issued by the German Football Association confirmed: “Andre Schurrle has caught a cold and will not be available for the game against Republic of Ireland tonight.
“The Chelsea attacker has already departed from the team hotel in Essen.”
Schurrle recovered from minor knock to feature in Germany’s shock 2-0 defeat against Poland at the weekend.
The result leaves the world champions in third place in Group G. The Irish are second after winning both their opening matches.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are next in action on Saturday when they face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
