Jake Clarke-Salter featured for Chelsea’s development side as they beat Tottenham 3-1 on Friday evening.
Defender Clarke-Salter recently joined Bristol Rovers on loan but is short of match fitness following an injury so was given a run-out in the Premier League 2 match at Stamford Bridge, where Jay Dasilva, Isaac Christie-Davies and Fikayo Tomori scored second-half goals.
Skipper Dasilva opened the scoring with a penalty after Josi Quintero was adjudged to have been fouled by Christian Maghoma rather than to have lost his balance after a lovely piece of skill inside the box.
Christie-Davies bundled in the second from close range when keeper Tom Glover parried a shot from the outstanding Kyle Scott, who had won the ball in midfield and then exchanged passes with Ike Ugbo.
The third goal was a beauty, with a fine move culminating in Tomori firing home after being found by Mason Mount’s back-heel.
Ugbo, on as a substitute, went close with a couple of efforts as the hosts dominated a one-sided game watched by Blues boss Antonio Conte.
Shayon Harrison pulled a goal back for Spurs with a penalty – the final kick of the match – after Dasilva had fouled Marcus Edwards.
