Reading sign Piazon on loan from Chelsea

Reading have signed Lucas Piazon from Chelsea on loan for the rest of the season.

It is the 21-year-old Brazilian’s fourth loan move since Chelsea signed him from Sao Paulo in January 2012.

Piazon spent last season with German club Eintracht Frankfurt and was previously on loan at Malaga and Vitesse Arnhem.

He has made three first-team appearances for the Blues but is yet to start a Premier League match.

Piazon will link up with ex-Chelsea man Steve Clarke at the Madejski Stadium.

Royals boss Clarke told the Championship club’s website: “Lucas is a very talented attacking player who can create chances and score goals.

“When we spoke I was impressed by both his maturity and desire to prove himself in English football after some loan moves to European leagues.

“I’m sure Lucas will bring something extra to our squad this season.”
