Christensen loaned out to Bundesliga side

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen will spend next season on loan at Borussia Moenchengladbach.

The 19-year-old Dane made his first-team debut in the Capital One Cup win at Shrewsbury last October and then started in the shock 4-2 FA Cup defeat to Bradford in January.

His first Premier League appearance came on the last day of the campaign as a late substitute against Sunderland.

Christensen also broke into the Denmark senior side and played at the European Under-21 Championships, when his country made the semi-finals.

He will link up with former Blues midfielder Thorgan Hazard, who impressed on loan with Borussia last season before completing a £5.8m permanent move.

Monchengladbach will play in the Champions League next season having finished third in the Bundesliga in 2014-15.
