Eden Hazard has been ruled out of Chelsea’s crucial game against Premier League leaders Liverpool and could also miss next week’s clash with Atletico Madrid.
Hazard has been struggling with a calf problem and manager Jose Mourinho says the Belgian will not feature at Anfield and is a doubt for Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final second leg.
The same applies to skipper John Terry, who picked up an ankle injury in the first leg against Atletico this week.
Samuel Eto’o also remains sidelined. The striker is still recovering from a knee problem.
“Hazard is out for Sunday and I don’t think [he will be fit] on Wednesday, but let’s wait,” Mourinho said.
Asked about Terry, the Blues boss said: “He doesn’t make this weekend and I don’t think he can make next week, but let’s wait.”
Mourinho previously suggested that Terry would miss the rest of the league campaign.
