Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel has moved to Premier League rivals Stoke on a season-long loan deal.
The 22-year-old spent last season at AC Milan, having recovered from a serious knee injury sustained shortly after his arrival from Vitesse Arnhem in 2013.
The Dutchman’s move to the Britannia may pave the way for Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic to join Chelsea.
A deal for Begovic, 28, has been agreed in principle but has been on hold while Stoke boss Mark Hughes decided which Chelsea player he took on loan.
Earlier on Friday, Andreas Christensen’s loan move to Borussia Moenchengladbach was confirmed, while Izzy Brown and Nathan will spend next season with Vitesse.
