Chelsea fans on Twitter have reacted with delight to the news that skipper John Terry has been offered a new one-year deal.
Terry met this week with Blues director Marina Granovskaia and chairman Bruce Buck, and is now considering the contract offer.
With Blues legend Terry having played more than 700 games for the club over almost 18 years, many Chelsea fans expressed joy and relief that their captain may well be staying.

However, a few fans still felt there were questions to be answered about the options Terry has, the time it took to offer him a deal, and comparisons to Frank Lampard’s protracted departure.
As we don’t know the details of the contract it could be miserly in comparison to what may lay elsewhere for him. #JT

Will a 1 year deal take #JT into retirement? Doubtful. So guess what? Yeah, we’ll be doing all this again in 12 months! Same as Lamps!
