James and Hudson-Odoi return to training
Chelsea’s Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi have returned to training following their respective injuries.
James has been out for a month since suffering another muscle injury soon after returning from a hamstring problem.
Hudson-Odoi, meanwhile, has not played since the FA Cup win against Luton on 2 March because of an Achilles problem.
The injury is not related to the Achilles tendon rupture previously suffered by Hudson-Odoi, but it has been enough to sideline him for the best part of a month.
Both players look on course to be available for this weekend’s west London derby against Brentford at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea face a busy period of fixtures, with seven matches coming in April – including a Champions League showdown with Real Madrid and the FA Cup semi-final against Crystal Palace.
Romelu Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were also involved in Tuesday’s session.
So too was Jorginho, who missed a penalty in Italy’s recent defeat by North Macedonia which cost them a place at the World Cup.
