Chelsea keen to snap up Martial in January

Chelsea are strongly interested in signing Anthony Martial and are considering making Manchester United an offer for him when the transfer window reopens in January.

The France forward, 22, is at a stalemate with United over a new contract, with his current deal due to expire in 2020.

United recently activated a year-long extension clause after he rejected their offer of fresh terms.

Chelsea are monitoring his situation at Old Trafford but would probably have to sell a player before making a move for Martial. Juventus are also interested in him.

Meanwhile, former Chelsea star Pat Nevin has told West London Sport he expects the Blues to sign a centre-forward.
