Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Augsburg left-back Abdul Baba Rahman.
The 21-year-old, who can also operate as a left midfielder, was part of the Ghana squad that reached the Africa Cup of Nations final in February.
He replaces Filipe Luis, who was sold back to Atletico Madrid in the summer. Neither the fee or length of contract have been disclosed.
Rated as one of the Bundesliga’s best defenders last season, making more successful tackles than any other player, Rahman has previously played for Greuther Furth.
He said: “I am very happy to sign for Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world, and I can’t wait to train with my new team-mates and very much looking forward to working with them and Mr Mourinho.
“I am also looking forward to having the opportunity to meet the fans as soon as possible.”
