Drummy takes Davey on loan from Chelsea
Dermot Drummy has signed Chelsea youngster Alex Davey on loan for Crawley Town.
The central defender, 21, has joined the League Two club until 3 January.
He ended last season on loan at Norwegian outfit Stabaek and previously had spells on loan at Scunthorpe and Peterborough.
Former Chelsea youth coach Drummy took over as Crawley head coach in April.
He told the club’s website: “I know Alex from my Chelsea days. He is a good footballer, comfortable in possession, but first and foremost an excellent, committed defender.
“I’m delighted Chelsea have let us have Alex for the first half of the season. He knows there are no guarantees, but I know he has the ability to challenge for a place.”

Scotsman Davey has been on Chelsea’s books since the age of 11 and was part of their 2012 Youth Cup-winning team.
“Dermot was my coach in the Under-21s at Chelsea, so I know him well and the way he wants to play, which I’m excited about,” Davey said.
“I need to get games under my belt because competition for a place at Chelsea is so strong and this is a great move for me.”
