Transfer gossip: Chelsea not planning Werner swap – Telegraph
Transfer speculation involving Chelsea in Tuesday’s newspapers…
Chelsea have no plans to let Timo Werner leave as part of an exchange deal, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The Blues have been tipped to bring in a striker this summer and have been linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.
It has been suggested that Werner could be offered to Dortmund as part of a deal to take Norway star Haaland to Stamford Bridge.
But the Telegraph reports that Chelsea are not planning to use Werner as a makeweight and want the German to stay.
Emerson speculation continues
Comments by Emerson Palmieri have led to more speculation over his future.
Emerson is behind Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso in the pecking order at Chelsea and has long been tipped to move on.
Speaking to Rai Sport, the Italy international said: “It’s still early to talk about the future.“I am focused on the national team only. We’ll see what happens in June.
“Chelsea can go all the way in the Champions League and the FA Cup. We can win something this season.”
That has resulted in the Daily Mail declaring that Emerson has ‘refused to rule out’ leaving Chelsea this summer.
Blues linked with Aguero
Chelsea are among clubs being linked with Sergio Aguero following confirmation that he will leave Manchester City at the end of the season.
The striker will not be given a new contract by City and has been linked with a number of other clubs, including Barcelona.
