Maurizio Sarri indicated after Chelsea’s Europa League win over PAOK that an injury Pedro suffered the final minute was not as serious as it looked.
Pedro had to be led away with what looked like a nasty shoulder injury following a collision with goalkeeper Alexandros Paschalakis.
The Spaniard’s condition was being assessed as head coach Sarri spoke to the media following his team’s 1-0 victory in Greece, where Willian’s early goal was enough for the Blues.
But Sarri’s initial impression was that Pedro’s injury was not a huge cause for concern.
He said: “I don’t know. The problem is shoulder, but I don’t know exactly the situation.
“I have spoken with the doctor, but only for a few seconds. The doctor told me that probably it’s not a very serious injury.”
