Moyes: West Ham’s willingness to attack Chelsea paid off
David Moyes said West Ham’s willingness to attack Chelsea was key to their 1-0 victory over the Premier League champions.
An early Marko Arnautovic strike earned Moyes a first win as Hammers boss from a spirited display at the London Stadium.
Moyes told Sky Sports: “We wanted to cause Chelsea some problems. We knew once they get a grip of the ball their possession would be far greater so that also meant us being good defensively.
“For long periods we were really well organised but we always wanted to cause them problems.
“We did that a little less in the second half even though we had two or three great opportunities to make a better pass which could have got us a second goal.”
West Ham remain in the bottom three in the Premier League table, but are now only one point adrift of West Brom who are fourth from bottom.
